Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are supporting a growing engineering company in Antwerp that designs and builds custom industrial machinery and production equipment. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for turning customer requirements into practical, manufacturable machine concepts and seeing them through to installation.

Key responsibilities

• Design custom industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Translate customer requirements into detailed mechanical concepts and designs.
• Develop machine assemblies, modules, and complete systems using 3D CAD software.
• Produce technical drawings and engineering documentation.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing and assembly teams.
• Support projects throughout the full machine build lifecycle.
• Ensure designs are practical, cost‑effective, and manufacturable.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanics, or a related field.
• Experience in machine building, industrial machinery, production equipment, or special‑purpose machinery.
• Strong practical engineering mindset with high attention to detail.
• Fluent Dutch communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to work on‑site in Antwerp.

Required skills

• Strong 3D CAD skills (Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar).
• Design of mechanical systems, assemblies, structures, and machine components.
• Production of technical drawings and engineering documentation.
