Legal Counsel – Industrial & Construction Projects

About the role

As a Legal Counsel at Equans, you will provide expert legal advice on complex contracts, public procurement procedures, and other legal matters related to the company’s industrial activities. Based in Brussels, you will work closely with the Industry North Business Unit and support projects that shape tomorrow’s infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse public and private tender documents, especially during the tender phase.
• Provide practical legal advice during project execution.
• Draft, negotiate and manage a wide range of agreements, including construction contracts, joint‑venture, maintenance, and shareholders’ agreements.
• Handle complex contracts and transactions, ensuring compliance with contract law, obligations, public procurement and corporate law.
• Follow up national disputes and claims involving Equans.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in law.
• At least 5 years of experience as a lawyer and/or in‑house legal counsel.
• Experience or strong interest in contract law, construction law, public procurement and industrial projects.
• Ability to understand technical, commercial, financial and strategic aspects of projects.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; French is a plus.
