Legal Counsel France & Benelux

About the role

Align Technology is seeking a qualified lawyer to join its EMEA Legal Team as Legal Counsel for France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. The role will support business leaders on commercial, corporate and compliance matters across a highly regulated medical‑device environment.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for legal issues in the France‑BeNeLux region, providing day‑to‑day advice to commercial and functional teams.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks, ensuring compliance with Align policies, code of conduct and local regulations.
• Support public affairs, litigation, employment matters and regulatory compliance, working closely with HR and other internal stakeholders.
• Manage relationships with external counsel and coordinate cross‑functional projects with global centers of excellence.
• Develop and deliver training programs on competition law, interactions with healthcare professionals and other relevant topics.

Required profile

• Qualified civil lawyer licensed to practice in France, Belgium or the Netherlands.
• Minimum 5 years post‑bar experience, preferably with both law‑firm and in‑house exposure.
• Experience in the medical‑device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology or life‑sciences sectors; knowledge of competition law, data privacy and compliance is a plus.
• Fluent in written and spoken French and English; additional European language (Dutch, German, Italian or Spanish) welcomed.
• Strong drafting abilities and solid business acumen.
