Legal Counsel – FMCG

About the role

Nicols, a leading FMCG company, is seeking a Legal Counsel to embed the legal function within its business operations. Reporting to the CFO of the Legal & Compliance Department, you will partner with multiple internal teams to ensure compliance, manage risk, and support strategic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Review, draft, negotiate and manage commercial contracts, NDAs and templates across customer, supplier, logistics and distribution agreements.
• Define and implement legal policies, support corporate transactions including M&A, and provide strategic advice to senior management.
• Monitor product regulatory compliance across markets, support product approvals (ingredients, labeling, SDS) and align internal policies with external obligations.
• Protect intellectual property by managing trademarks, designs and patents, and conducting infringement checks.
• Support board and shareholder activities, manage legal entity administration and corporate housekeeping.
• Handle claims, litigation, insurance matters, competition law, anti‑corruption, code of conduct and GDPR issues, and embed risk‑management checkpoints in operations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law with a commercial or corporate focus.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial law, contract law and regulatory frameworks, preferably in FMCG or manufacturing.
• Demonstrated expertise in contract drafting, negotiation, risk assessment, regulatory compliance and IP protection.
