Legal Counsel – Corporate Legal & Operations

About the role

Ageas is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Corporate Legal & Legal Operations team at the Brussels Corporate Centre. The role blends core in‑house legal work with the opportunity to shape the future of the legal function across the Group.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical, business‑oriented and risk‑based legal advice to Corporate Centre functions on a broad range of matters.
• Monitor and analyse legal and regulatory developments affecting the Group.
• Support corporate law, litigation, regulatory, ESG, reinsurance, contract law and other transversal legal topics.
• Act as a centre of legal expertise and governance for Ageas.
• Contribute to initiatives that improve the delivery of legal services across the organisation.
• Collaborate closely with Corporate Centre functions and Group stakeholders.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in corporate law, litigation and regulatory matters.
• Familiarity with the insurance sector and related legal issues such as ESG, reinsurance and contract law.
• Strong analytical abilities and a business‑focused mindset.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross‑functionally.
