Legal & Compliance Officer

About the role

As a member of Companions’ legal team, you will support the growth of the holding and its portfolio companies by delivering comprehensive legal and compliance services. Based in Kontich, you will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure robust governance and regulatory adherence across the group.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and manage legal documents, including confidentiality agreements, board minutes, resolutions and intra‑group contracts.
• Assist with corporate transactions such as company incorporations, signature arrangements and closing formalities.
• Maintain up‑to‑date corporate records in Corporify, monitoring board and auditor mandates.
• Support the employee portal on Corporify, ensuring HR‑related legal documentation is current.
• Collect and process information from portfolio companies for regulatory reporting.
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, notaries and the investment team as a primary liaison.
• Handle legal and tax formalities, publications and insurance policy administration.
• Provide routine legal assistance to the HR team on employment matters.
• Organise and preserve legal files in SharePoint.
• Develop and maintain compliance policies, procedures and training materials, covering KYC/AML, GDPR, ESG and internal controls.

Required profile

• Law degree or equivalent qualification with experience in corporate law and compliance.
• Familiarity with Belgian corporate governance and regulatory frameworks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Corporify platform.
• Experience using SharePoint for document management.
• Knowledge of KYC/AML, GDPR and ESG compliance requirements.
