Lead Unix/Linux Administrator – RHEL/HP-UX/Solaris

About the role

Infosys is seeking a Lead Consultant to own the administration, operation and continuous improvement of mission‑critical Unix and Linux platforms. You will work in a dynamic, ITIL‑driven environment supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux, HP‑UX and Solaris systems that underpin core business applications.

Key responsibilities

• Day‑to‑day platform administration, including installation, patching, upgrades and decommissioning across production and non‑production estates.
• Performance tuning, kernel optimization and capacity planning to ensure high availability and optimal resource utilization.
• Lead major incident response, problem management and root‑cause analysis for Unix/Linux services.
• Drive automation initiatives and disaster‑recovery readiness.
• Collaborate with application, database, storage, network, cloud, security and service‑management teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 + years of hands‑on experience administering enterprise RHEL, HP‑UX and Solaris environments.
• Proven experience in large‑scale, 24x7 production settings.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCSA/RHCE, RHCA, Oracle Solaris, HP‑UX) are preferred.
• Demonstrated technical leadership or SME role for Unix/Linux platforms.
• Ability to mentor junior staff and drive technical competency.
