Laboratory Technician II – Genomics Services

About the role

You will be partly responsible for carrying out molecular laboratory analyses within our Genomics Unit. In this lab you will perform DNA and/or RNA extractions and use the latest molecular analysis technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Perform specialized molecular analyses of varying complexity on different platforms
• Control the operation of analysis equipment and report malfunctions
• Monitor lab processes and record data in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
• Prepare analyses, equipment, and samples according to testing requirements
• Document the laboratory work performed
• Assist with data interpretation
• Write operating procedures

Required profile

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in a molecular laboratory
• Prior experience with Next‑Generation Sequencing (NGS) is a plus
• Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and databases, or willingness to learn
• Fluent oral and written communication in Dutch and English
• Experience working within a quality system (ISO 15189:2012)
