Laboratory Technician – Animal & Molecular Biology

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to join the Cancer Ecosystems and Metastasis Laboratory (CEMLab). The role combines hands‑on animal work with cellular and molecular biology techniques in a dynamic, international research environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee mouse colonies: breeding, genotyping (DNA extraction, PCR) and detailed record‑keeping.
• Perform animal procedures such as injections, monitoring, tissue collection and experimental follow‑up under approved protocols.
• Execute molecular biology techniques including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR and gel electrophoresis.
• Maintain laboratory stocks, order supplies and ensure equipment is properly serviced.
• Enforce lab safety regulations and contribute to procedural improvements.
• Document experiments accurately, troubleshoot technical issues and support the research team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences, biotechnology, animal care or a related field.
• FELASA B/C certification with proven mouse handling and colony maintenance experience.
• Prior experience in molecular and cell biology techniques.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel).
• Fluency in English; French is an asset.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
