About the role
Uni Systems is seeking a Kubernetes Engineer to design, build and evolve highly scalable, secure and resilient Kubernetes platforms using SUSE Rancher as the central management plane. The role involves automating cluster lifecycle, implementing GitOps pipelines and ensuring platform health across hybrid, multi‑cloud and bare‑metal environments.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain Kubernetes platforms managed with SUSE Rancher, handling RKE/RKE2 cluster provisioning, scaling, patching and upgrades with minimal downtime.
- Develop automation scripts in Python or Bash and create CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, ArgoCD or Rancher Fleet to enable GitOps workflows.
- Monitor platform health with Prometheus and Grafana, respond to alerts and troubleshoot complex containerised workloads.
- Enforce security policies, including network policies, Rancher RBAC, Pod Security Admission and automated container image scanning.
- Optimize resource utilization, right‑size clusters and dynamically scale nodes across cloud and on‑prem infrastructure.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, runbooks and architecture diagrams.
Required profile
- High school certificate or equivalent.
- 4+ years of experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering.
- 4+ years designing, deploying and operating production Kubernetes clusters with deep expertise in SUSE Rancher / Rancher Manager.
- Proven experience migrating legacy systems to containerised micro‑services architectures.
- Active NATO SECRET clearance or higher.
- English proficiency at B2 level or above.
