Junior/Medior Associate – Litigation & Risk Management

About the role

Loyens & Loeff is seeking a motivated Junior/Medior Associate to join its Litigation & Risk Management Expertise Group in Brussels. You will work within a Tier 1 Litigation & Arbitration practice, supporting clients in state court actions and international arbitration under the guidance of senior partners.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in advising and representing clients in domestic court litigations.
• Support international arbitration proceedings, including preparation of pleadings and evidence.
• Handle enforcement and attachment matters across jurisdictions.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, motions, and other procedural documents.
• Collaborate with colleagues from other practice areas and offices to deliver integrated solutions.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Belgian law with an excellent academic record.
• 2–4 years of professional experience in litigation, preferably with exposure to international arbitration and enforcement proceedings.
• Fluent oral and written Dutch, excellent English, and a good passive knowledge of French.
• Proactive, result‑driven attitude and strong teamwork skills.
• Ability to perform in‑depth analysis and propose pragmatic solutions for clients.

Required skills

• Legal research and drafting in Dutch and English.
• Knowledge of Belgian procedural law and international arbitration rules.
• Experience with enforcement and attachment procedures.
