Junior Cybersecurity Advisor

About the role

As a Junior Cybersecurity Advisor at ACEN you will help organisations improve their security posture by translating cybersecurity frameworks into practical actions. Working side‑by‑side with senior consultants, you will operate at the intersection of business, IT and security while staying close to emerging technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance to clients and internal strategic advisors on security matters.
• Assist in selecting appropriate security controls for various organisations.
• Support adoption of frameworks such as NIST CSF, CCB CyberFundamentals, ISO 27001 and CIS Controls v8.
• Conduct information‑security maturity assessments under senior supervision.
• Help implement policies, procedures and best practices.
• Contribute to internal advisory roadmaps and security‑awareness initiatives.

Required profile

• Strong willingness to learn and build a solid foundation in cybersecurity.
• Analytical mindset able to assess risks without getting lost in technical detail.
• Comfortable switching between technical and business perspectives.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; occasional travel for client engagements.

Required skills

• Knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF).
• Familiarity with ISO 27001.
• Understanding of CIS Controls v8.
• Awareness of CCB CyberFundamentals.
