Junior Business Developer – PV / BESS Projects

About the role

You will support the end‑to‑end development of photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects for B2B clients in Belgium. The role combines market sourcing, contract negotiation, technical scoping and project planning to deliver projects from concept to handover.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and qualify new PV and BESS opportunities, prepare tailored proposals and support contract negotiations.
• Structure and negotiate key agreements such as PPAs, EPC contracts, O&M contracts and land‑lease arrangements.
• Define technical scope (design, capacity, technology) and coordinate the creation of technical solutions.
• Build detailed business cases, including CAPEX, OPEX and revenue assumptions, and present investment cases internally.
• Lead permitting processes, liaising with authorities and grid operators to obtain necessary approvals.
• Manage project planning, milestones, risk registers and regular reporting throughout the development phase.
• Coordinate internal teams (sales, engineering, management) and external stakeholders (contractors, advisors, investors).
• Prepare handover documentation for construction and support EPC contractors during execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Law or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in renewable‑energy project development (PV/BESS, B2B) within Belgium.
• Strong knowledge of contractual frameworks (PPA, EPC, O&M, land agreements) and Belgian energy markets.
• Familiarity with permitting, grid‑connection procedures and stakeholder management in Belgium.
• Proven ability to develop financial models and business cases (CAPEX/OPEX).
• Fluent in French or Dutch.
