Assistant Store Manager – Retail

About the role

New Balance is more than just a sportswear brand – we are a family that empowers people through sport. Our Antwerp store is looking for an enthusiastic associate who can engage, excite, educate and entertain customers from the moment they walk through the door. You will support the Store Manager in daily operations while acting as a true brand ambassador.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze store performance (bestsellers, space allocation) and adjust to increase productivity.
• Deliver total customer satisfaction using advanced sales techniques.
• Train the team on products, New Balance technologies and seasonal items.
• Coordinate rota and scheduling, and act as key holder on the shop floor.
• Implement loss‑prevention procedures and monitor losses.
• Support recruitment, induction, training and development of the store team.
• Handle customer enquiries and escalations, ensuring complaints are resolved.

Required profile

• Team player with proven supervisory experience.
• Ability to lead, coach and develop a retail team.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
• Basic maths competence and understanding of retail KPIs.

Required skills

• Proficiency with POS register systems.
