IVVQ Engineer

About the role

Thales Begium in Herstal, Belgium is seeking an IVVQ Engineer to join its Engineering department. The role focuses on integration, verification, validation and qualification of hardware, software and system solutions for precision‑guided rocket systems used on helicopters, aircraft and unmanned platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Define logical integration schemes for product elements and evaluate design behavior, interactions and performance.
• Verify that all product requirements are met according to the IVVQ test strategy and plan.
• Create test sequences, select test equipment and software tools, and execute tests in the laboratory and on test campaigns.
• Analyze test results, produce final reports and provide feedback to subcontractors and development teams.
• Prepare and configure equipment for proof‑of‑concept demonstrations.
• Document test procedures and reports in IVVQ tools and generate formal documentation.
• Automate test procedures where possible to optimise verification and validation campaigns.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in mechanical, electronic or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an engineering or R&D environment.
• Strong understanding of the V‑model system development lifecycle and IVVQ processes.
• Ability to balance rigorous testing with pragmatic risk‑based decisions.
• Self‑driven, autonomous and able to meet commitments.
• Fluent in English and French.

Required skills

• Vibration, EMI/EMC and climatic environment testing.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulation.
• Generation of test documentation (procedures and reports).
• Embedded systems development and testing.
• Familiarity with standards such as DO‑178, ARP4754 or ISO 26262.
• Agile development culture.
