Housekeeping Supervisor Trainee (Internship)

About the role

The Hotel. Brussels, a luxury hotel near European institutions in the heart of the Belgian capital, is looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor Trainee. This is an internship in the hospitality industry where you will be immersed in the work of the housekeeping department from day one, learning every aspect of the profession from cleaning techniques to guest service.

Key responsibilities

• Open the Housekeeping Department each morning by preparing and assigning daily tasks, checking supply levels and making sure the team is ready.
• Help close the department at the end of the day, ensuring rooms are cleaned to hotel standards, writing end-of-day reports and organising tasks for the next day.
• Help manage inventory of cleaning supplies and guest-room amenities, including monitoring stock, ordering products and managing deliveries.
• Manage the department's email correspondence, responding promptly and professionally to guests and other departments.
• Coordinate with other departments such as Front Office and Maintenance, acting as the main contact for questions about room cleanliness and maintenance.
• Regularly inspect guest rooms and public areas and report and resolve any issues immediately.
• Other duties may be assigned depending on department needs and ongoing projects.

Required profile

• Hospitality management student with an internship agreement of at least three consecutive months (up to six months preferred), starting immediately or on a mutually agreed date.
• Comfortable communicating in English and French; knowledge of Dutch or another language is an advantage.
• Communicative, customer-focused, energetic, team player and able to handle challenges positively.
