Government Affairs and Public Policy Analyst

About the role

As a member of Google’s Government Affairs and Public Policy team in Brussels, you will help shape the company’s engagement with EU institutions and stakeholders on a range of policy issues. You will combine analytical rigor with creative thinking to translate external perspectives into actionable strategies for Google.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate policy activities between the Brussels team and Google’s wider network of policy teams across EU countries and global functions.
• Monitor, coordinate and lead policy initiatives with Google policy teams located in multiple EU member states.
• Develop and implement engagement strategies with EU institutions, industry partners, and third‑party stakeholders on regulatory, reputational, and executive outreach matters.
• Support the execution of outreach programs targeting EU member‑state delegations and other key decision‑makers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in communications, political campaigns, or government work.
• At least 2 years of experience in think tanks, public interest groups, technology industry groups, or corporate public policy organizations.
• Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant field.
• Experience working for an EU institution, national permanent representation, trade association, or technology consultancy in Brussels.
• Familiarity with the EU regulatory landscape for AI, data governance, or competition economics.
• Proven ability to navigate policy and cultural dynamics of key EU member‑state delegations.

Required skills

What we offer

• Annual base salary between €80,000 and €82,000.
• Target bonus of 15 % of base salary.
