Government Affairs and Public Policy Analyst

About the role

As a member of Google’s Government Affairs and Public Policy team, you will work at the intersection of technology, public policy, and government relations, helping shape the future of AI and data governance in Europe. You will collaborate with policy teams across the EU and globally to bring external perspectives into Google’s strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate policy activities between the Brussels team and Google’s wider network of policy teams across EU countries and global functions.
• Monitor, coordinate, and lead policy initiatives on key challenges affecting the internet and emerging technologies.
• Develop and implement engagement strategies with EU institutions, industry partners, and third‑party stakeholders on regulatory, reputational, and executive outreach matters.
• Support the development and execution of outreach programs targeting EU member‑state delegations and other key stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in communications, political campaigns, or government work.
• At least 2 years of experience in think tanks, public interest groups, technology industry groups, or corporate public policy organizations.
• Familiarity with the EU regulatory landscape for artificial intelligence, data governance, or competition economics.
• Ability to navigate policy and cultural dynamics of key EU member‑state delegations.
• Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD, experience with EU institutions, national permanent representations, trade associations, or technology consultancies in Brussels.

• Annual base salary €80,000 – €82,000.
