Functional Analyst – Hybrid, Brussels

About the role

The Functional Analyst will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams within a complex, mission‑critical environment. Based in Brussels, the role combines on‑site collaboration with remote work to ensure requirements are accurately captured and translated into functional specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct functional analysis, gather business needs and produce clear functional specifications.
• Collaborate with developers, testers and product owners to maintain functional consistency throughout design, development and testing.
• Define and maintain functional documentation, workflows, user journeys and acceptance criteria.
• Support User Acceptance Testing, validate deliverables with stakeholders and ensure functional quality across the product lifecycle.
• Participate in backlog grooming, functional design sessions and solution validation workshops.
• Perform functional testing, classify defects and assist in root‑cause analysis.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Functional Analyst or in a similar role.
• Fluent in English (C1) and French (C1); Dutch is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in IT, engineering, business analysis or a related field.
• Strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills and ability to work with both technical and business teams.
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
