Freelance Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

Mindrift is looking for experienced machine‑learning specialists to join its project‑based AI platform. As a freelance ML Engineer you will design and implement challenging computational problems that simulate real scientific workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Design original STEM‑focused computational problems that require Python programming.
• Ensure problems are computationally intensive and cannot be solved manually within days or weeks.
• Develop problems that need non‑trivial reasoning chains and creative solutions.
• Verify solutions using Python with standard libraries (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, scikit‑learn).
• Document problem statements clearly and provide verified correct answers.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on machine‑learning experience with proven business impact.
• Portfolio of completed projects or publications demonstrating real‑world problem solving.
• Strong written English (C1+).

Required skills

• Expert Python programming for data science (pandas, numpy, scipy, scikit‑learn, statsmodels).
• Advanced statistical analysis and machine‑learning algorithm knowledge.
• SQL and database operations for data manipulation.
• Experience with GenAI technologies (LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, vector databases).
• Understanding of MLOps practices and model deployment workflows.
• Familiarity with modern frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain).
