Freelance Legal Counsel – Real Estate

About the role

We are seeking a Freelance Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal support for a client operating in the real estate sector. The role involves advising on acquisitions, disposals, development projects, leasing, and asset management across a diverse portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on real estate transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, and development deals.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage contracts such as purchase agreements, lease agreements, development and construction contracts.
• Support due‑diligence processes for property acquisitions and investment opportunities.
• Advise on zoning, planning, permitting, environmental and regulatory matters.
• Manage relationships with external law firms, notaries, consultants and regulatory authorities.
• Assist with corporate governance, compliance and cross‑border transaction structuring.
• Identify legal risks, develop practical solutions and support dispute resolution or litigation management when required.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the real estate sector.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Law and qualified lawyer status.
• 4–8 years of experience in a law firm or in‑house legal department, focusing on real estate, property law, leasing and development.
• Strong commercial contract negotiation and risk‑management skills.
• Excellent drafting and communication abilities.
• Business‑oriented, pragmatic and solution‑driven mindset.
