Freelance Cloud Infrastructure Architect – Brussels

About the role

We are seeking a Freelance Cloud Infrastructure Architect to design and deliver secure, scalable cloud solutions for a leading enterprise in Brussels. You will work closely with infrastructure, security, and application teams to drive cloud transformation across hybrid environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design scalable cloud and hybrid infrastructure architectures.
• Translate business and technical requirements into robust infrastructure solutions.
• Define infrastructure standards, governance, and architectural best practices.
• Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
• Design highly available, resilient, and secure platforms.
• Collaborate with engineers, security specialists, and solution architects.
• Provide technical leadership throughout project lifecycles.
• Ensure solutions meet performance, security, and compliance requirements.
• Support architecture reviews and technical decision‑making.

Required profile

• 3–7 years of experience in IT infrastructure with architectural responsibilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English; Dutch and/or French is an advantage.

Required skills

• Cloud infrastructure architecture (Azure preferred, AWS a plus).
• Hybrid cloud design and enterprise infrastructure solutions.
• Virtualization, networking, security, and identity management.
• Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Kubernetes, containers, and modern DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of cloud security and architecture best practices.
