Freelance AI Engineer – Data Scientist

About the role

Next Ventures is supporting a client in Brussels and is looking for experienced AI Engineers on a freelance basis. The role focuses on translating customer challenges into tailored AI solutions and delivering prototype implementations.

Key responsibilities

• Design and pilot fit‑for‑purpose AI architectures based on client needs.
• Collaborate closely with customers to understand requirements and present results to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Promote best practices in version control, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development across all engagements.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of AI/ML engineering experience with B2B deliveries.
• Strong Python expertise and hands‑on experience with large language models and related libraries (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex).
• Proven ability to deploy scalable AI applications on Azure Cloud, including Azure Data & AI services.
• Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks (LangGraph, AutoGen, CrewAI) and MLOps tools (MLflow, Kubeflow) is a strong plus.
• Dutch language skills are a bonus.
