Food & Beverage Attendant – Service & Cashier

About the role

The Food and Beverage Attendant provides front‑of‑house service in a hospitality environment, handling cash transactions, preparing and serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean work area. The role requires interaction with guests, accurate record‑keeping, and adherence to food safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collect sales slips, total sales on the cash register, accept payments and make change.
• Maintain cash records and present bills to guests.
• Set up food service counters, steam tables, and beverage dispensers with hot and cold items.
• Prepare coffee, tea, juices, and soft drinks.
• Seat guests, record their selections, and transmit orders to the kitchen.
• Clean tables, work areas, and equipment after service.
• Prepare fruits, vegetables, salads, and portion meats or seafood for cooking.
• Monitor cooking progress to prevent over‑cooking.

Required profile

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and portioning.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 lb, and perform frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
• Completion of at least 4 hours of food sanitation training within 30 days of hire and annual refresher training.
• Meet age and medical requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
