Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking an analytical and detail‑oriented Financial Controller to join our Finance team. In this position you will ensure accurate monthly closings, produce insightful financial analyses and help continuously improve our finance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and execute the monthly financial closing according to the established calendar.
• Perform variance analyses and verify the accuracy, completeness and proper cut‑off of all financial transactions.
• Monitor cost budgets in close collaboration with budget holders after each closing.
• Support the monthly forecasting process and produce financial reports for the Damartex Group.
• Prepare weekly sales figures for Damartex Group and bi‑weekly reports for the Commercial Committee.
• Assist with the annual audit and conduct ad‑hoc financial analyses to support business decisions.
• Identify opportunities to optimise and improve finance processes.
• Translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for non‑financial stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong analytical mindset with a structured, detail‑oriented work style.
• Excellent communication skills, able to make financial information accessible to non‑financial audiences.
• Proactive attitude towards continuous improvement and learning.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; French is a plus.
