Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to join a fast‑paced biotechnology organization in Brussels. You will partner with business and management teams to provide financial insights that support strategic decisions and drive performance in an international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business and management teams to analyse performance and key financial drivers.
• Deliver financial insights and recommendations for decision‑making.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting and performance reviews.
• Manage month‑end closings, including margin analysis, inventory valuation and financial reporting.
• Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data across systems and accounting records.
• Support compliance activities, external audits and credit risk monitoring.
• Contribute to finance process optimisation, reporting tools and automation initiatives.
• Participate in cross‑functional projects related to reporting, consolidation and system improvements.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• 5–6 years of experience in audit, financial controlling or corporate finance.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis and controlling practices.
• Advanced Excel user with experience in ERP and reporting tools.
• Interest in technology, automation and process improvement.
• Clear communicator of financial information to both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
• Autonomous, analytical, proactive and results‑oriented.
• Fluent in French and/or English; additional languages are a plus.
