Finance Manager / Controller

About the role

Zero Friction is seeking an experienced Finance Manager / Controller to own the end‑to‑end finance function. You will provide leadership with a transparent view of the business, from overall profitability down to individual customer contracts, across both SaaS subscriptions and outsourced services.

Key responsibilities

• Run monthly, quarterly and annual close, delivering accurate P&L, balance sheet and cash‑flow reports.
• Build the annual budget and rolling forecasts with the CEO and department leads, and explain variances.
• Analyse profitability at the customer and contract level, combining SaaS metrics (MRR/ARR, gross margin, LTV) with cost‑to‑serve.
• Manage working capital, accounts receivable/payable and cash‑flow to keep runway clear.
• Handle invoicing for customers in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and the United Kingdom.
• Own finance tooling and processes, collaborating with Deloitte as the accountancy partner.
• Prepare reporting packs, KPIs for leadership and the board, and support fundraising with robust models.
• Develop business cases and scenario models for market entry, pricing changes, and hiring decisions.

Required profile

• Qualified finance professional with a degree in finance, economics or accounting.
• Solid experience as a financial controller or finance manager, preferably in a SaaS, services or scale‑up environment.
• Strong combination of accounting rigor and commercial insight.
• Hands‑on, self‑starting attitude, able to build and run the finance function.
• Clear communicator who can translate finance concepts for non‑finance colleagues.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
