External Communication Advisor

About the role

As an External Communication Advisor you will join a dynamic team that shapes the visibility and reputation of a key player in the Belgian and European energy sector. You will translate complex electricity‑grid topics into clear, accessible messages for a wide range of audiences, supporting the organization’s strategic communication goals.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement communication concepts aligned with the external communication strategy.
• Gather, analyse and simplify technical and policy information into clear messages.
• Prepare content and key messages for spokespersons and senior management.
• Coordinate communication assets such as presentations, videos, publications and digital content.
• Collaborate with internal experts, business teams and external agencies.
• Organise stakeholder days, press events and conferences.
• Monitor communication impact and propose improvements.
• Support crisis communication and respond to unexpected situations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in communication, journalism, political/social sciences, economics, law or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in external communication or a similar role.
• Strong writing skills with the ability to simplify complex topics.
• Results‑oriented mindset and ability to work quickly across topics and formats.
