EU Public Affairs Consultant – Energy Regulatory Policy

About the role

Political Intelligence Brussels is looking for an experienced Public Affairs Consultant to advise a global technology client on EU energy regulatory matters. You will bridge electrical engineering concepts with policy advocacy, helping the client navigate evolving EU frameworks that affect data centre operations and infrastructure across EMEA.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse energy policy consultations and regulatory proposals, assessing technical and economic impacts on data centre and grid projects.
• Prepare briefing materials, position papers and meeting summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support workshops, meetings and consultations with TSOs, DSOs, regulators and trade associations across EMEA.
• Coordinate consultation responses and manage day‑to‑day relationships with European trade bodies.
• Develop expertise in emerging energy technologies and assist in creating standardized policy frameworks for multiple jurisdictions.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of experience in energy regulation, utility operations or energy policy analysis.
• Familiarity with EU energy directives, TSO coordination and regulatory consultation processes.
• Strong ability to translate technical concepts into clear policy positions.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/energy engineering, or Law/Economics with a focus on energy regulation.
