End User Support Specialist

About the role

This freelance position provides Level‑1 end‑user support on an on‑demand basis for a Brussels‑based client. The specialist steps in when the primary engineer is on leave, ensuring continuity of desktop and laptop services for all users.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver end‑to‑end technical support for desktop and laptop hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Perform IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) activities and break/fix tasks.
• Manage the full device lifecycle: configuration, patching, OS imaging, and vendor hardware replacements.
• Use SCCM, Intune and ServiceNow for asset tracking, ticket resolution and remote assistance.
• Install, update and patch approved software in line with IT security policies.
• Provide remote and deskside support for Microsoft Office, Outlook, VPN clients and other EUC tools.
• Enforce security protocols, antivirus monitoring and desktop policy compliance.
• Offer VIP support and act as the primary onsite contact during critical escalations.
• Support printers, scanners and other peripherals, including routine maintenance.
• Assist with basic Active Directory tasks, user account management and smart‑hands support.
• Document incident resolutions, hardware inventory and technical guides.

Required profile

• Proven experience in Level‑1 desktop support or help‑desk environments.
• Ability to work independently on short‑notice assignments.
• Strong communication skills in the local language and English (B2 level).
• Customer‑focused attitude with a willingness to handle VIP and critical incidents.
