Embedded Software Engineer – Automotive Systems

About the role

As a member of a leading advanced engineering centre focused on automotive, you will design, develop and validate embedded software that powers next‑generation electronic control units. The role contributes to connected, safe and sustainable vehicle technologies while ensuring compliance with international automotive standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and validate embedded software for automotive ECUs.
• Define and refine software architectures and system requirements.
• Ensure compliance with ASPICE, ISO 26262 and ISO 21434 standards.
• Integrate AUTOSAR‑based components, including Vector AUTOSAR stacks.
• Develop bootloaders and firmware for Hardware Security Modules (HSM).
• Perform static and dynamic code analysis, debugging and performance optimisation.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for traceability.
• Collaborate with hardware, validation and systems engineering teams in an agile environment.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in embedded software development.
• Strong understanding of embedded hardware/software interactions.
• Experience with automotive software development standards (e.g., ASPICE).

Required skills

• C/C++ programming.
• AUTOSAR architecture and Vector AUTOSAR stacks.
• Bootloader development.
• HSM firmware development.
• Static and dynamic code analysis tools.
• Debugging and performance optimisation techniques.
• Technical documentation skills.
• Knowledge of ASPICE, ISO 26262 and ISO 21434 compliance.
