Domain Lead – Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery

About the role

The Domain Lead for Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery ensures that YPTO and the SNCB ICT department can continue operating during crises such as pandemics, data‑center failures, power outages or ransomware attacks. The role combines strategic planning, testing and governance of both business continuity and IT disaster recovery across the organization and its subsidiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and continuously improve a comprehensive Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and an IT Disaster Recovery (DR) plan for YPTO and SNCB.
• Perform Business Impact Assessments and risk modelling (Monte Carlo, bow‑tie analysis) to define recovery objectives and select appropriate alternate sites and technologies.
• Coordinate regular drills, tabletop exercises and full‑scale simulations to validate plans and identify improvement areas.
• Maintain documentation, incident reports and compliance records, and provide regular status reports to senior management.
• Ensure legal, regulatory and contractual compliance for security and continuity standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in IT disaster recovery planning and business continuity.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business or a related field; BCM practitioner certification is a plus.
• Fluent in Dutch or French (C2) and English (C1); additional language proficiency is beneficial.
• Proven ability to influence budgets and priorities with senior leadership.

Required skills

• Development and testing of recovery strategies, including RTO and RPO definition.
• Design and management of secondary/tertiary recovery sites and off‑site data backup solutions.
