Design Engineer

About the role

As a Design Engineer at Jan De Nul, you will create and validate designs for a wide range of civil and offshore construction projects, from bridges and water treatment plants to sea walls and offshore energy islands. You will work from our Aalst office, collaborating closely with CAD‑BIM designers and on‑site teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop design concepts and perform stability calculations for diverse infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with CAD‑BIM designers to produce accurate construction drawings.
• Translate client requirements into feasible technical solutions and adjust designs based on site feedback.
• Provide technical support to operational teams during construction.
• Participate in tender preparation and follow designs through to delivery.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in civil engineering.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to turn theoretical knowledge into practical, efficient designs.

Required skills

• CAD‑BIM design tools.
• Design and stability calculation techniques.
