Cyber Security Administrator

About the role

The City is looking for a Cyber Security Administrator to protect its digital environment. You will monitor, triage, and investigate security alerts, work closely with the Cyber Architect and infrastructure teams, and help maintain a strong security posture across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts from SIEM, EDR, email security, cloud platforms and other tools.
• Investigate suspicious activity, collect evidence, analyze logs, and escalate incidents as needed.
• Document investigation notes, timelines, and outcomes for all security events.
• Tune alerting rules and detection logic to improve efficiency and reduce noise.
• Serve as first responder for security incidents, supporting triage and escalation.
• Assist lead Cyber Analyst during active investigations and coordinated response efforts.
• Maintain and update incident response procedures, checklists, and documentation.
• Participate in tabletop exercises, lessons‑learned reviews, and process improvements.
• Oversee departmental activities, monitor budget, and develop operational KPIs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Urban Studies or related field.
• Six years of full‑time experience in a leadership role, with at least three years managing security programs or services.
• Demonstrated organization, communication, and leadership skills.
• Valid State of Ohio driver’s license.
