Customs and Trade Tax Senior Expert

About the role

PwC is seeking a senior Customs and Trade Tax expert to join its Tax and Trade practice in Belgium. The role will support multinational clients in navigating complex customs, excise and international trade regulations, helping them build transparent and resilient supply‑chain operations.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on global trade strategy and compliance amid shifting geopolitical measures such as sanctions and regionalisation.
• Provide guidance on customs, excise and related consumption taxes and support companies in managing their compliance obligations.
• Analyse client records, identify issues, and propose optimisation opportunities while liaising with local tax authorities.
• Support supply‑chain structuring and optimisation from a customs and trade perspective.
• Assist with audits, rulings and dispute management with customs and excise authorities.
• Implement and improve Global Trade Management (GTM) systems such as SAP GTS.
• Apply AI and data‑analytics techniques to enhance classification, origin determination, risk detection and document handling.
• Translate regulatory requirements into automated, defensible trade processes.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in customs, excise and international trade consulting.
• Strong client‑facing skills, able to work with multinational corporations and major Belgian‑headquartered companies.
• Ability to combine technical trade expertise with business insight and technology enablement.

Required skills

• SAP GTS or comparable Global Trade Management system.
• AI and data‑analytics tools for trade classification and risk analysis.
