Contract and Vendor Manager

About the role

As a Contract and Vendor Manager you will join the Procurement, Contract and Vendor Management team within B‑IT, the IT department of SNCB/NMBS. You will lead strategic IT procurement initiatives and manage a portfolio of high‑impact IT contracts, ensuring continuity, compliance and value creation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex public procurement processes for IT services, defining strategies, governing evaluations and conducting technical and contractual negotiations.
• Govern multi‑vendor IT contracts, monitor performance against SLAs/KPIs, manage risks and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, draft technical specifications and align sourcing with SNCB’s digital roadmap.
• Manage relationships with strategic suppliers, handle escalations, resolve disputes and negotiate at senior level.
• Maintain visibility on contract deadlines, financial impact and optimisation opportunities to support cost control.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business Economics, Industrial Engineering, Commercial Engineering or Information Technology.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in complex IT environments as a Senior Contract Manager, Buyer or Project/Program Manager.
• Proven experience with public procurement and strategic IT sourcing, including software licensing.
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English.
