Component Engineer – Tubize

About the role

Thales is looking for a Component Engineer to join its Tubize site, supporting the selection and management of mechanical and electronic parts used in RF, C4ISR, cryptographic and aeronautical intercom products. You will work closely with design engineers and the purchasing department to ensure optimal component choices and inventory control.

Key responsibilities

• Select mechanical and electronic components based on the Preferred Part List (PPL) and Component Information System.
• Assist design engineers in choosing parts that meet functional and regulatory requirements.
• Review new component requests, participate in design reviews, and promote standardization.
• Maintain the Approved Part List (APL), assign inventory numbers, flag obsolete items, and consolidate duplicates.
• Collaborate with suppliers, update the Approved Vendors List (AVL), and support prototype‑phase purchases.
• Ensure all work follows international standards and internal quality procedures (ISO, civil aviation).

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in electronics, telecommunications, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in hardware and mechanical development.
• Fluent in French, Dutch or English (strong English required).
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel and work autonomously.
