Community Software Engineer (Remote, Europe)

About the role

As a Community Software Engineer you will enable n8n’s vibrant builder community to contribute high‑quality code and extensions. You will act as the bridge between external contributors and the core product, ensuring that community‑driven improvements are reliable and ship quickly.

Key responsibilities

• Review community pull requests, provide clear feedback and maintain a two‑week review SLA.
• Guide contributors through the review process and improve contribution workflows.
• Debug and fix bugs in the n8n codebase that affect nodes, workflows, or external integrations.
• Work with external APIs, SDKs, authentication flows, and node logic to identify root causes and deliver reliable fixes.
• Vet community‑submitted nodes for quality, security and usability, and make documentation enhancements.
• Contribute to node enhancements and related engineering tasks to keep the platform extensible.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience building, debugging and maintaining production‑grade JavaScript or TypeScript applications.
• Proven ability to investigate and resolve bugs that involve external dependencies such as APIs.
• Comfortable interacting with open‑source contributors and providing constructive feedback.
