Communications Intern – Government Relations & ESG Engagement

About the role

We are looking for a Communications Intern to support the Government Relations & ESG Engagement team at Nestlé Europe, based in Brussels. The role offers hands‑on experience in EU public affairs, digital communication and event organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning and organising EU public‑affairs events such as conferences, policy breakfasts and stakeholder meetings.
• Draft and design internal and external communication assets – newsletters, brochures, videos, presentations, infographics – with a focus on LinkedIn advocacy.
• Coordinate with external agencies to ensure alignment with communication objectives and brand guidelines across creative, content and media workstreams.
• Monitor social‑media and online conversations to identify and drive relevant policy discussions.
• Support advocacy projects on topics including circular economy, regenerative agriculture, nutrition, supply chains and youth employment.

Required profile

• Academic background in Communications or a related field.
• Fluent oral and written English; additional languages are a plus.
• Strong interest in EU affairs and advocacy.
• Creative, proactive and able to work under tight deadlines.
• Digitally‑savvy with a passion for innovative communication formats.

Required skills

• Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
• Basic knowledge of Canva or Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects).
• Experience with social‑media platforms, especially LinkedIn.
• Event‑management and project‑management abilities.
