About the role
The Commercial Director will lead all commercial activities for an international trading company in the handicraft sector across Belgium and Luxembourg. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will manage a team of 13 FTEs and own the subsidiary’s profit and loss.
Key responsibilities
- Full responsibility for P&L, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning aligned with group targets.
- Drive sustainable growth by steering field and office sales teams and strengthening market positioning across two segments.
- Motivate and develop the sales team through a people‑oriented management style.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, strategic partners and existing accounts.
- Conduct continuous market analysis (trends, customer needs, competition) and translate insights into actionable initiatives.
- Collaborate with inside sales, marketing, product management and project management to improve commercial processes.
- Report directly to the CEO and ensure execution of growth initiatives.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a commercial or economic field.
- Several years of experience in a senior commercial role.
- Coaching and motivational leadership style with strong self‑reflection.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Relevant network in technical wholesale and DIY (plus).
- Fluent in Dutch, French and English.
