Commerce Platform Architect

About the role

We are seeking a Commerce Platform Architect to lead the technical vision and delivery of our SAP Commerce ecosystem. You will act as the primary technical liaison, ensuring that customisations, integrations, and data models align with business goals while maintaining a future‑proof, component‑based architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Define implementation and coding approaches for customisations, interfaces, and data architecture.
• Lead agile delivery teams through technical decisions, risk management, and standards enforcement.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, functional teams, and other architects to translate requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Design the overall commerce architecture with focus on scalability, security, performance, and system integrations.
• Document technical designs, analyse risks, and provide cost estimates for solutions.
• Manage platform lifecycle activities, identify technical debt, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Stay current with SAP Commerce trends and evaluate their impact on the existing architecture.
• Lead the platform community of shared interest (COSI) to share knowledge and best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in commerce project SDLC and implementations.
• At least 5 years of software development or programming experience.
• Proven track record as a Commerce Technical Architect with successful e‑commerce deployments.
• Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
