Chief Operating Officer (COO)

About the role

Baobab Collection is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to lead its end‑to‑end supply chain and operations. Reporting to the CEO and joining the Management team, the COO will transform the organisation from a reactive setup into a structured, performance‑driven operation that supports continued growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement data‑driven demand forecasting and lead S&OP processes.
• Transition procurement from reactive to proactive, aligning purchasing with demand forecasts and managing supplier performance.
• Oversee warehouse and logistics, standardise workflows, and drive partial automation and picking efficiency.
• Improve production flows, identify bottlenecks, and align manufacturing with supply‑chain priorities.
• Establish quality monitoring systems and enhance after‑sales feedback loops.
• Define and track supply‑chain KPIs, ensuring real‑time performance visibility.
• Deploy and optimise ERP and Business Intelligence tools while enforcing data‑governance practices.

Required profile

• Senior executive with responsibility for supply chain, procurement, logistics, production and IT functions.
• Member of the Management team, reporting directly to the CEO.
• Proven ability to drive operational excellence and digital transformation.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems.
• Proficiency in Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
• Knowledge of AI integration for forecasting and automation.
• Strong data‑governance practices.
