Buyer – Reserve List (NATO International Staff)

About the role

The Office of Financial Control of NATO International Staff is establishing a reserve list for a Buyer position. The incumbent will manage a wide range of procurement transactions, execute Procure‑to‑Pay processes and support upstream sourcing for NATO’s civil budget.

Key responsibilities

• Provide guidance on the procurement process and ensure compliance with financial procedures.
• Execute Procure‑to‑Pay order cycles, from demand intake to tendering or direct contract award.
• Maintain accurate invoice tracking, financial records and documentation of all transactions.
• Collect, categorise and track procurement‑related information for knowledge management.
• Troubleshoot supplier delays and support internal customers in resolving delivery issues.

Required profile

• Higher secondary education with at least 4 years of procurement experience, or vocational/post‑secondary degree with at least 2 years of experience.
• Previous experience as a buyer or procurement associate, preferably in a multinational or international organisation.
• Proficiency in one NATO official language (English or French) at level V and the other at level II.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with internal customers and external suppliers.

Required skills

• Use of standard ERP systems such as Oracle E‑Business Suite (EBS) or SAP/R3.
• Knowledge of Procure‑to‑Pay, tendering and direct contracting procedures.
