Business Development Director – West Africa

About the role

GWE is seeking a dynamic Business Development Director to lead sales activities across West Africa. The role focuses on promoting complete wastewater treatment plants, waste‑to‑energy, and biogas utilization solutions to a diverse client base.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities for wastewater and energy projects in the assigned region.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess client needs and present GWE’s innovative technologies.
• Maintain and expand relationships with existing customers, government bodies, engineering agencies, and local advisors.
• Collaborate with internal sales and engineering teams to design economically attractive, locally adapted solutions.
• Manage long‑cycle sales processes involving complex decision‑making units.

Required profile

• Technical bachelor’s degree.
• Proven sales track record in wastewater, biogas, or energy sectors.
• Strong network within food & beverage, starch, distillery, palm oil, paper & pulp, or solid waste industries.
• Excellent English communication skills; additional languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel up to 35% of the time.
