Business Controller – Benelux Retail

About the role

Q8 is seeking an experienced Business Controller to join its Benelux retail organisation in Antwerp. The role sits at the heart of the business, translating financial performance into actionable direction and partnering with senior stakeholders to drive sustainable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full financial performance cycle, including monthly closings, budgeting and forecasting.
• Take responsibility for the P&L, covering margins, shop revenues, OPEX, CAPEX and new business streams.
• Produce clear management reports with actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
• Analyse performance versus budget and prior periods, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Lead quarterly forecasting processes and contribute to long‑term business planning (including 5‑year plans).
• Translate financial data into concrete recommendations that improve profitability.
• Support Business Analysts while maintaining a helicopter view of the business.
• Act as a critical sparring partner to senior stakeholders, challenging assumptions and influencing decisions.
• Perform and validate investment analyses such as discounted cash flow, working‑capital optimisation and ROI.

Required profile

• Strong background in Business Controlling within a commercially complex corporate environment.
• Experience in sectors such as retail, oil & gas, chemicals, pharma or other large‑scale businesses.
• Proven ability to manage full P&L responsibility and drive performance improvements.
• Comfortable moving between strategic discussions and detailed operational analysis.
