About the role
Weerts Group is expanding its tax department and seeks an experienced Tax Officer focused on Belgian taxation. You will ensure compliance for our Belgian entities while supporting international tax matters across a diversified logistics, real‑estate, motorsport and renewable‑energy group.
Key responsibilities
- Review and file Belgian tax returns (VAT, direct taxes, withholding taxes, etc.) and supervise local fiduciaries.
- Monitor filing deadlines, tax calendars and advance tax payments to guarantee timely compliance.
- Identify and mitigate tax compliance risks, documenting Belgian tax positions.
- Develop and maintain tax review schedules, analyse specific compliance topics and produce structured tax documentation.
- Support the broader Tax Team on cross‑border tax issues where Belgian considerations apply.
Required profile
- Proven experience in Belgian tax compliance and a solid understanding of local tax legislation.
- Ability to work closely with fiduciaries, accounting teams and finance departments.
- Strong analytical mindset for risk identification and process improvement.
- Excellent communication skills to ensure consistent tax approaches across the Group.
