Backend Engineer - Remote

About the role

We are seeking a Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain robust backend services that power innovative digital products. This fully remote, contract‑based position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a high‑performing engineering team and shape core technology infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs with high performance requirements.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications and impactful backend solutions.
• Optimize systems for reliability, security, and efficiency to ensure seamless user experiences.
• Write clean, well‑documented, and thoroughly tested code following best engineering practices.
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues, focusing on root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to architecture discussions, bringing innovative and solutions‑oriented ideas.

Required profile

• 3+ years of proven backend development experience using modern programming languages.
• Extensive experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Strong proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases, including data modeling.
• Deep understanding of system security, authentication, and authorization best practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, proactive approach.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, fully remote expert team environment.
