Backend Engineer – NATO Secret Clearance (Mons, Belgium)

About the role
This Backend Engineer position supports NATO‑related data initiatives in Mons, Belgium, and requires a NATO Secret security clearance. The role focuses on protecting, controlling and optimising the value of data assets while working in a mixed military‑civilian environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement policies and practices that safeguard and optimise data assets.
- Design and execute master data management processes for specific data subsets.
- Assess data integrity across multiple sources and ensure consistent quality.
Required profile
- A relevant university degree with at least 2 years of post‑degree experience, or a minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in a related function.
- Demonstrable experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or in a comparable role.
- Experience working in an international environment that includes both military and civilian elements is desirable.
Required skills
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, R, or C#.
- Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organisational structures (e.g., ACO, ACT) is a plus.
