AWS DevOps Engineer – Hybrid (Brussels)

About the role

We are looking for an AWS DevOps Engineer to join the central Platform Engineering team of a Flemish government client. The role is based in Brussels and works in a hybrid model (2‑3 days onsite per week) to design, build and operate a central AWS hub that supports multiple downstream spokes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, manage and operate the central AWS platform, including core components such as firewall, DNS, logging and monitoring.
• Extend and scale the infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automate releases across environments.
• Roll out and operationalise applications in landing zones, ensuring reliable integration with the hub.
• Monitor health of infrastructure and applications, create and execute failure/recovery plans.
• Optimize platform flows, add new services and maintain documentation.

Required profile

• Higher education (Bachelor or Master) in a technical/engineering field or equivalent experience.
• Fluent Dutch (CEFR C2) and English.
• Minimum three years of hands‑on experience with AWS and related DevOps technologies.
• Proven ability to design and maintain a hub‑spoke cloud architecture.
