Assistant Manager – Audit

About the role

KPMG is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead audit engagements for Belgian clients. You will coordinate field work, ensure compliance with International Standards on Auditing, and act as a trusted point of contact for clients throughout the year.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute audit field work, statutory reporting and completion for companies operating in Belgium.
• Supervise, coach and develop junior team members.
• Prepare audit files and reports in line with ISA and KPMG standards.
• Keep managers and partners informed of audit progress.
• Visit client sites, maintain relationships and identify business opportunities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in commercial engineering, commercial sciences or applied economics (accountancy specialization is a plus).
• Minimum three years of experience as an external auditor.
• Critical mindset, professional judgment and strong commercial awareness.
• Excellent planning, organization and ability to work under rapid change.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Belgian GAAP and IFRS.
• Familiarity with US GAAP and US GAAS (asset).
• Understanding of International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
• Proficiency with AI tools for audit tasks.
